Tom Kanter grew up in the city of Brussels in Belgium and moved to Minnesota in 2005. He then set his sights on California, and in 2008, he began his studies in animation at USC’s film school.
Since then, he has worked in production in both the television and film industry. In addition to storyboarding, he has also freelanced as an animator, compositor and editor. He recently finished working on ‘Transformers: Robots in Disguise’ at Hasbro Studios as a production assistant in 2017. In 2018, he storyboarded on the pre-school show Tinpo for the BBC. He is currently a professor of storyboarding at the New York Film Academy.
Tom created the award-winning short The High Five Apprentice, which won Best Animation at The Peace on Earth Film Festival in 2014. It was also selected as part of 2013 Adobe First Frame’s Official Selection.
